I use 255 BFG or Hercules radials to drive to the track and race, not exactly known for ther grip! I achieve 2 second sixty foot times with 3.23 gears and a posi, suspension fairly stock apart from Hotchkis trailing arms

My 60' are all in the 2.4 area. My best was something like a 2.39, however that was when I just started to do a small burnout with only the one wheel, since then I've noticed all the tread blocks on that tyre are now sort of tapered over on the tops, and that my 60' have been getting worse. I'm going to start this season with swapping wheels over, get some 'fresh' tread on the driven (wheel that spins) side and see if that improves it.

Reading up online, there's a lot of speculation as to whether BFG tyres, especially street tyres actually benifit from warming up or a light haze is better.

I'm running stock wheels and stock tyre sizes, 215/60/r15 I think. All BFG with at least 6mm of tread.

Ended up finding a pretty cheap 4th Gen LSD carrier. It's an Auburn which is far from my first choice, but for the price I couldn't refuse it. Didn't get any reply from Rocky about the Axle he had on offer.

Will be running the gears that came with it, they're out of a 60k mile car and are in good shape, a nice even look to the teeth pattern. Will just have to see if it actually locks up.

3RDGenmalc - Did you replace the crush sleeve with a shim kit?

3 series (with gear mounted) next to a 2 series carrier.

Sorry you didn't get reply but I did send email saying the axle had too much play so wouldn't sell it. I'm using it for spares instead.

I did but it´s out and I used a crush sleeve, the shim kit is for professional builders.....not me.

I used a Ratech Smart Sleeve Crush Sleeve 11003, luckily I bought two, they crush easier than the regular ones.
