Hi, I have imported a Chevrolet Camaro to the UK. I have been told by DVLA that I need a certificate of conformity in order to register the car. I spoke to Chevrolet customer services with no luck. Any ideas how I can obtain one? Thanks! |

Have you had any luck with this? It seems like a bit of a VOSA thing? |

Hello! This is my first post on this forum! If it's a US model then you will not get a certificate of conformity. It was manufactured for the US market and CoC for European market does not exist(even if they sell similar model in i.e. Germany). You have to do IVA but first you have to get Nova certificate. I imported myself a car(2017 Camaro 1SS convertible) from US auction(through Germany and Poland, where it was fixed), and gave it to guys from Specialised Shipping near Reading and they did all the paperwork for me, converted lamps, took the car for IVA, registered in DVLA and installed the plates. For a fee obviously. But it was really nice to give them the car and drive away with all the bureaucratic headache taken away! I know that the post is a few months old but this is the journey that many people might decide to undertake and it's a pain in the mule. After going though the process on my own, I can say that importing a car from the US(additionally one that needs repairing first) is not a straightforwards process and you either should do it for living or give it to a company who does these things. |
