I still haven't done anything to replace my front or rear suspension and saw these for sale for £75 already in UK (plus shipping).

Are they decent at all?

I wouldn't bother with air shocks, I have them on mine and I have to say there's much better dampers out there. As we know these cars have "interesting" handling characteristics at best, and as such they need all the help they can get Air shocks won't help.

Ok, so you don't have to lay out for the really expensive gear (which is very good) but a nice set of adjustable Koni or something similar really IS worth it a definite http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-fron ... -1981.html a definite improvement for sure

I saw those too, didn't realise they were air shocks! I had some on mine before, then went over to koni's after getting some advice on here. The thing with air shocks is they make the whole of the suspension rely on the shock towers, which aren't designed to deal with that level of stress and could lead to the towers failing.

I searched on ebay a few months ago for 2nd gen shocks, they were coming up from places like John Wolfe and US automotive for about £35 - £45 each. There are a pair of normal Monroe gas shocks for £80 delivered from Ultimate Spares of America http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-81-Camar ... q4MsG4xdWg

Monroe make OE spec shocks but unfortunately as all of the above listed companies do, they buy the economy (cheapest option) and sell them at normal prices. So combined, it would be £140 for the full set of 4 economy shocks delivered.

Alternatively, Rockauto do the OE spec (daily driver, not economy) Monroe shocks for £17 each, so a set of 4 including delivery to the UK is £115. So £25 less and better quality.

I would (and will) go for the rockauto option and then add in some service parts to make the most of shipping, like oil filters (£2 vs. £10), gaskets, spark plugs (£8 vs. £30) thermostats etc.

Think i'll give the air shocks a miss. Will look at a better set of regular or even adjustable ones. For the front I want to replace the springs also.

Interesting handling?? I find this car to be the best handling classic I have driven! Though it's also the newest by 7 years

Maybe a better handling classic American car, but not a great handling classic by any means. Don't get me wrong I enjoy my Z28 very much, but compared to many a European classic it's not much of a rival out on the public roads.
