I got stuck once inside the car. While setting up the striker. Turned out the lock was pushed in without realising it! Have you got the lock assemble in place? If so, as silly as it sounds (it's what happened to me) pull the lock up (at the top of the door). If it's not that lucky, is the door card off and glass out? If so, you can access the inner workings by hand and move the levers around until it's unlocked. Does that help in anyway?

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Thanks for the advice, yes the door card is off, i was trying to set the glass straight and shut the door to see how it fit, then the bloody door wouldn't open, i was only able to to get my 47 torx inside to unscrew the striker, now its nearly out and theirs a gap, but the mechanism is still locked on the striker.

Ok, so is the door still shut? It sounds like the latch hasn't fully engaged and is limbo. Are you able to try and fully engage the latch (by moving the striker up and down in the mechanism)? Also by wiggling lock rod and door handle up and down.
One thing that helped mine was squirting a lot of wd40 into the latch mechanism in various places. This helped to makes it move smoother and in turn the mechanism would work to its full travel vs. getting a bit jammed up towards the end of travel.
