Do you have Hurst or Fischer T tops? A little mentioned trick that i only noticed while going through the factory manual on my 3rd gen, is that the t tops seals are supposed to be lubricated with silicon grease regularly, so that when you slide the t top into place, it doesn't get caught and pull the rubber, instead it slides over and fits into place better. I guess that once the seals are too far gone, it may not make a difference, but if they are newish, then a good practice. I did this to all the seals recently - door, boot and bonnet (the bonnet used to stick a bit when opening, but now it doesn't ) |
