As main tittle says really I am looking for 3.42 ratio 8.5" 10 bolt. :thumbup:

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
More than 3.42 and you´ll start using more fuel plus an irritating higher revving motor.
I went from 2.80 to 3.42, just enough.

I went from 2.56 to 3.42 as well... definitely a good compromise.. I've got manual 5 speed though.

Car Details:1980 2nd Gen, 6.0 iron block LS, 4.11 12 bolt axle, Brute Strength Posi, Lowered 2", sub frame connectors, G-braces, Carbon hood and front bumper cover

3.42 works well with a 3 speed, depending on what size tyres you have on the back.

Any higher and you really need OD, I run 4.11's in my 12 bolt. Which is great for launches, but it shreds tyres...

It´s best to buy new, if you buy a set out of the axle you´ll never get them set up correctly again.
You need to check the gear mesh pattern before removing them and installing in yours.

Do you have a limited slip diff ?

You´ll need an installation kit too, shims and bearings.
I used Yukon, supposed to be the best.

Don´t take my word for it though, you´ll have to make sure you know what type of rear axle you have.
