Just connected the new windscreen washer pump to the resevoir, pushed the wiper switch on the dash, and nothing! Cant see any break in the wires in the engine bay.... The wiper switch works, in that the wipers work at both speeds... Just not pumping water. Could it be the switch on the dash thats gone? Not sure if there's a fuse thats connected to the washer? |

Only way to test is to put a 12v tester on the pump and see if it's getting power. |

To be honest, I couldn't get hold of a tester, so instead of testing that, I tried to trace moisture inside the boot which I thought might be the rear screen leaking? Turns out there was moisture/condensation all along the top of the inner wing which was dripping down, then running into the boot. So took the vent off the B Pillar to get some air through and found a nasty big hole inside the B Pillar on the drivers side The area that goes across is rusted out. I even knew to check it, but completely forgot when buying it, like an idiot Not sure how to go about repairing that? Need to see if there's access from the inside or could be a cutting the wing away maybe? |

On mine, the water in the boot was from holes where the rear quarter and trunk filler panel meet. Had to have the window out to repair it.Turns out there was moisture/condensation all along the top of the inner wing which was dripping down, then running into the boot. Try and get pics through the b-pillar vent hole. Take the rear interior panels out and pics of that another panel hole to look through there too, look down and backwards. In the trunk, get pics of the under side of the opening, and reach in and take pics facing fowards past the inner arch. |

It's very common for the rear window surround to rot at the bottom as the water sits here under the trim.. |

Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated. I took a video, which was the best way to get an image of the hole because of the light on the phone being on constantly. I'll put on the vid on my photobucket page and link on here. The bottom of the pillar below the door vent was wet so could door seals be a issue too? I have new ones to put on anyway. I actually got inside the trunk and had a good look along the inner wing towards the door vent, under where the rear window wraps around. Didnt see any rot there, but guess as there's a couple of bubbles in the paint near the seal, could be water getting in there. My other issue is I dont have a garage and my storage for the winter has fallen through... so will only have weekends when I can get over to a mates and do stuff like taking the interior out to have a good look around. Its my daily driver at the minute because I just love driving it!! |
