According to the link below, the weatherstrip is retained by a retainer plate that is screwed into the roof channel and also has double sided sticky tape on it. I've done the screw in bit and have installed the rubber too... so it's complete BUT i didn't use double sided sticky tape as i didn't know it should have it. So my question is, what happens if i leave it as is? By double sided sticky tape i think they mean to say a butyl style caulking that came in thin (1mm or so) strips, acting as a gasket between the retainer and the metal of the car body. Should i install some gaskety stuff? http://www.nastyz28.com/2gcog/trim.html |

I didn't bother on mine as my roof rails came away with the foamy/rubber stuff still attached. Seems to be OK. My door rubber leak really badly though, I need to replace them again. Something doesn't fit right somewhere and I don't know what. |
