Hi guys,

another newbie for you! just got myself a 79 Z28, I imported it from Indiana, runs ok but needs a lot of love! body is rust free with the execption of a tiny hole in the boot!

I will do a full interior refit including all kick panels headliner etc, basically a brand new interior, not cheap i know but the sun has destroyed it.

Also it seems to have "lost" all its heating and ventilation parts, ie no heater matrix, no ducting, no switches, you get the picture, has anybody got any laying around, i have contacted a few parts places in the states for qoutes to replace all, set myself a reasonable budget to complete it....yikes

That looks very nice and original!

For the heating stuff / interior panels try rockauto and npd (national parts depo). Rockauto you'll probably find a lot more pocket friendly on things like the heater matrix. I think the kick panels are about £45 for each side.

Hello and welcome...

Looks like a nice original car too..

There wer a few cars being broken a while back, and a bit of an eBay search may find some 2nd hand interior or heater parts around, but failing that NPD or Classic Industries...

Looking forward to more update pics..

Couple more photos its clean underneath, will have to get plenty of underseal on if I want to enjoy it, and not worry about rain, or salt!!!

The looks lovely and clean underneath!

Underseal kept mine nice and solid too, worth doing it as you say if it's going to be driven

It looks like the rear sway bar could use a new bushing. Find out the diameter of the bar with a a caliper gauge, then see if you can find a supplier that does generic ones, and match the size up.

Cheers!

Ray

Yes I will replace them, looks similar to landrover stuff!!
I removed the inner wings today and the aircon rad housing, its all solid and clean, and everything just unscrews, such a nice change from fighting with rusted solid parts...
