I'm just wondering what insurance company you guys use as I'm with Aviva which isn't classic insurance for my 1980. I told them on the phone the car is worth what I paid but I am not sure that if there's an accident or it gets nicked that they may just be like "well it's 35 years old so here's 300 quid" or that if I had a very minor ding they would write the car off as I am sure just sourcing a bumper, bonnet, slam panel and a wing in the US alone for instance then shipping them over would already come to quite a few grand. It seems any damage to these rare cars will cost 10x more than a normal car to fix and the smallest accident could write it off resulting in the insurance company taking away a perfectly good car. Do classic insurance take a little more money in premiums to go that extra mile to help you out in a crisis? Or maybe there's a company more suited where someone can come out or I can send pictures to get an agreed value. |

Classic line for me. Last year it was about 150 quid. All mods declared, fully comp, 3000 miles, agreed value. 30y old, no points, 1 accident. Adrian flux quoted about the same but their policy didn't include breakdown cover. Also worth trying footman james |
