Car Details:1979 gen 2 camaro, in bits at the moment, just fitted a 350. Needs lots of work.
Hello every one, I'm trying to fit a different manifold and Holley carb to my 350. I have a few issues. First my dissy hits the manifold at the number 8 inlet. I don't know what carb I have and if it will perform ok how can i tell? and my manifold has a hole at the front next to the main coolant inlet which is enters the oil part of the block, what's this for? Sorry for so many questions. I hope some one can help.
I have tried to post some photos but it says they are to large?
Cheers
Alex

Whats sort of inlet manifold? and what dizzy is it? The carb should have numbers on it that you can try to goole that should help, there are a few different types standard 4 barrel, spred bore, vac secondaries, double pump, then different cfm's, also different metering blocks, pump sizes, power valves, and jets etc. plus some are for dual set up and theres one for turbo's, and when you fit it I bet it flood's.

But they are good carb's so stick with it and learn more about them they are simple when you get to know them and plenty of part around.

2 other things though use new good quality petrol pipe and have a fire extinguisher handy.

I cant think of which inlet you have but it may be a pre 1974 one which used a points dizzy or a single plain type?
