Hi folks - I need to get a new electrical feed up to the back of the car to seperate the brake and indicator light systems. I think it is a case of taking the old feed off the brake pedal switch and putting in new cable to supply the brake lights seperately. I had a quick look and can't even see the pedal switch. Then looked at the back seats to see how they came out but can't see any fixings (on my old Mustang there are a couple of screw fixings on the bottom of the seat base and once they are out it all removes easily. Any advice / hints / tips on how to get the job done gratefully received!

Seat bases clip in, can be a PITA to remove. Push down hard in the centre and try moving them forward or backward then pull upward. They should unclip. Then theres 2 screws at the bottom to remove the seat back, which is on hooks at the top.

The brake light switch is behind the pedal lever toward the top of the pedal.

The feed to the brake light switch will be orange, and the output white. The white wire goes to the indicator switch. You'll need to reroute this wire to the rear of the car. The brake light wires are brown at the back of the car, and the indicators should be dk grn for RH and yellow for LH.

I'll have to remember how i did my '73 lights, but do remember running a new line from the switch (hand on brake pedal, follow it up and you'll get to the mechanical switch). David explains it well there, let us know incase you get caught somewhere. Cheers!

Particularly thanks for the clear instructions David as I find the wiring diagrams a nightmare to follow! Not too sure about doing it this weekend - might be a bit too cold for my old bones and I need to get the car out of the garage to be able to get the doors wide open. Roll on summer!
