Car Details:1973 Z28...
Hi,

Very pleased to be picking-up my 1973 Z28 next weekend. Not owned a classic before but always dreamed of owning an American car. She was 44 in May according to the Trim Tag.

Details; colour 26, dark blue, white stripes (true to the Trim Plate), American Racing wheels, B&M shifter and neutral interior. Maybe you've seen her around... will post pictures when I work out how to do it.

Going to have lots of questions so hopefully you all have the answers:

Anyone know of a Chevrolet specialist in West London/Surrey areas?
Anyone know car storage facility near Twickenham as I really don't want to keep on the Street?

I'm sure there will be more so thanks in advance.

Looking to show her off so hopefully catch-up with some of you at some point.

Cheers...

Hello and welcome to the club! Lovely looking car, will no doubt see you around at some point as I am also West London.

Cannot help you for storage, mine is on the drive under cover (at least till I get the garage emptied and perhaps chop a few inches off the length...)

Thanks for the reply, advice and feedback, really can't wait to drive it although apparently need to run it in as £5k recently spent on the engine. Need to get the oil changed in around 400 miles so need to good garage to give her the once over.

Some paint blemishes and needs a new centre console as a previous owner installed the B&M shifter and hacked the plastic to fit it in. Sounds great and lots of suspension work carried out so drives like a dream.

See you around and if anything going on I should attend, just shout...

Keep your eye on the future events section. Not sure how much is left for this year, but there is a couple of Sunday pub meets. The Goat on 1st Sunday (as in today!) And.the King and Tinker 3rd Sunday. Not been to either in months though as been busy

Howdy and welcome... Car looks lovely...

Ex west Londonder here , but now up in Luton...

Re storage, I've rented a few garages from council and private, so keep an eye on gumtree, local papers/etstae agents or look on council website..

Worse way, if you can find a quiet street it's not the end of the world if it's outside for the next month or 2.. many her store there's on driveways under covers too..

Result, Council have a 'standard' garage in a nearby block and only £104/month. Apparently the Z28 is 188" long and 75" wide, it will just go in with about 2" either side so will have to push her in a drag her out. Just need to put something on the floor to roll up to prevent from hitting the front wall. Can't believe my luck, maybe I should get a lottery ticket!

Question, anyone know where I can get a space saver wheel & tyre and jack as apparently didn't come with the car when the current owner purchased it in May this year? Will have to buy a tin of sealer spray just in case.
