Post subject:  Newbie - Saying Hello :-)

Good morning to you all

After much searching I've finally purchased a 3rd Gen Camaro. It's the 5.7, T-Top with Preferred Equipment Group 3 (with Leather added as well) and more importantly the Performance Axle (LSD, different ratio, rear discs, oil cooler, exhausts etc.).

It's a late model (1991) which in my humble opinion is the better one as it looks the same externally but has the newer gauge cluster and the higher power (245hp) motor with the lighter pistons. It's a Z28 as they had dropped the IROC at that point, which is a shame.

It's needing work (interior is a bit of a mess and I've ordered the injectors as it's running badly) but I got it cheap. Externally it's very tidy (was resprayed recently in Ford Radiant Red) and has large IROC style chrome wheels. A previous owner had started removing the A/C (including heater matrix, but left the pump installed?!?) and the Cruise Control for some reason. It's also an ex California model (at least minimal rust) which means it has the extra anti smog stuff installed for that state, one top of the original Smog pump / air etc.

Thought I'd say Hi to you all, before I start asking advice!

Hello :P

That A/C delete panel is EXACTLY what I need, thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Will get one of those, once she runs right (injectors due this week, I know what I'm doing at the weekend!!) and she's water proof (T-tops leak like buggery, but it came with a new set of seals which hadn't been fitted).

Once that's done I'm ordering this baby, as the fan doesn't even work any more. They ripped out the A/C in a very odd way indeed! Must order the pump wheel / dummy from summit racing as well while I'm at it :-)

Will post some pictures tonight!

Cheers for the welcome everyone, most friendly!

Jon

Hopefully this works, some photos of 'Jeff'. He is a 1991 Z28 5.7 TPI.

Headlight returns are now painted the correct black but I haven't taken any more photos yet as I'm constantly working on him!

(did link via photobucket, but only inserted URL so see next post for uploaded image files. First time uploading photos here, sorry!!)
