Hi all, I recently took delivery of a 67 Camaro as a restoration project. Basically it had a fire under the dashboard resulting in getting full of steam and being left to rust. It has a perfect frame and solid panels just ALOT of surface rust. Im trying to save as much as I can as well as saving cash! Going through gallons of phosphoric acid and wire wheels though!! Its only a L6 so thats coming out and a 350 going in. A couple of pictures to follow, does anyone recognise it? Cheers!

I hate you. I'm pretty sure this is the car a mate (on this forum too) was thinking of buying recently. Six-cylinder car that had an interior fire? Guess you got it fairly cheap? Still hate you.
Cheers, Martin

Yeah thats the one. Cheap is a relative term!! I wouldnt give 50 quid for any other car in this state! Haha. A shit ton of work to do but im in no rush. It needs a whole cowl section, upper dash panel and rear window to trunk panel. Apart from that im hoping to save the rest!

Well, if it all gets too much for you I might take it off your hands! Apparently that was a nice un-messed car before the fire. Hopefully you'll sort it out.
Cheers, Martin

If I give up the wife would kill me!! Just have to take it a step at a time and dream of the first drive! If anyone has any Gen 1 spares kicking about I wouldnt mind taking them of their hands.

Hi all. Still making (slow) progress with this! Got myself a big enough garage to work in, so far i have - 2 new rear quarters on, just fit new lower cowl panel and now I need a little help. I have to install the upper dash panel and dashboard panel but I need to get the alignment right. Does anyone have any pictures of the bottom of the windscreen pillars where everything joins up? Need to see how the dash fits to the pillar and where the upper dash lines with the cowl. Any help appreciated.

Hi Nightwolf, I think I remember seeing your car for sale at a swap-meet at White Waltham several years ago , fairly certain it is the same car with L6 and damage due to underdash fire .
Was a very solid car back then and well worth doing...
I heard a rumor it was up for sale a while back due to the owner having health issues .
The 1st Gen. scene has no secrets once you get into it ;)
Looks like a very nice project
If you are looking for some parts PM me and depending what you need I may be able to help you .

Yeah it is very solid, once these last few panels are in and sorted I can get onto re-painting the inside then onto the frame and underneath. Then it might actually become a rebuild! Just need to get this dash in and aligned properly first..
