Hi Rick, Convertible SS 4th gen will be a fairly rare beast over here, so great news you're shipping it over. Interesting you've de-tuned the car, most people go the other way I'm sure you could have another small box fitted into the exhaust to quieten it down a little if needed. I don't personally know much about the headlight conversion, or if even needed, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to fit a rear fog light fog MOT. i don't think Camaros need much more as they don't have red indicators like Trans Ams. Look forward to hopefully seeing it over here. Whereabouts are you going to be located in the UK, and when ? |

Well that's another question....we actually leave our house here in Houston at the beginning of August this year but my wife and I plan on touring the USA in a 40ft motorhome for 18 months or so. So I have to decide do I ship it over now and store in the UK or store here until we go back. Thinking about corrosion issues it'll probably be best here. Right now the body work is perfect....I'll have to look into some thorough rust proofing too. I'll be very keen to show it in the UK when we get there. So hopefully we can meet up. If anyone has any advice on storage for it.....if anyone wants to keep it as a show vehicle for 18 months I'd be happy to donate it for that period of time....let me know as it would help me out! Cheers |

Hi Rick, You must be mad moving from Texas to the UK lol. Can you ship a container of sunshine and warmth with you too Are you going to be anywhere around London? If so, try giving Elo at London Motor Museum a shout as i'm sure he'll be able to add it to the museum for that length of time. If it's as rare here as Stu is saying then it'll be a good addition and eye catcher. They have been recently expanding their building so should have some space to fill. I'll PM you details if it's of interest. Regarding MOT yes you should be ok as STU says... rear fog light, Cat converter and the headlights. The beams will be pointing into oncoming traffic, i'm not sure how other owners have dealt with this? Cheers! Ray |

Hello Rick. An SS vert? Hey, you won`t see another. You`ll love the UK. The weather is amazing. Not a drop of rain or wind. Come to Scotland. Its almost tropical Joking aside. 500hp? Would be pretty interesting in an F body to say the least. Keep us posted. |

Hi Rick, lovely SS you have! Agree you're mad coming here though - hope you don't mind a little bit of rain now and then. As for MOT it really depends on the tester. The rules state that if the car left the factory without it, it doesn't need to be fitted. So if no fog light was fitted from new, it does NOT require one - same with hazards, unsecured folding seats and seatbelts on classics (along with many other things). Anyway I thought 98-02 4th gens had fog lights as standard? I'm sure I've seen them in the rear bumpers, unless that was only for the UK market... |

Thanks for the compliments....nope my Camaro has front fogs but no rears. Hope you're right about the MOT test though. Yeah maybe a little mad coming home but that's where family and friends are so that's a big draw. We get to enjoy America for another 18 months though as we take our 40 ft RV on a road trip....but that's another story!! |
