Hi all - been lurking a while but first post as I now have my Camaro! The mods I've discovered so far are: 383 stroker block and rods kit Forged crank, rods and pistons 750 demon 4 barrel carb Aluminium DART performance heads All up rated springs and valves High lift high RPM Comp camshaft Duel fan aluminium radiator 4 cores i believe. Up rated pulley kit for auxiliaries Service 700r4 auto transmission Rear air suspension Uprated front suspension Manga flow 2.5 inch exhausts Locked differential (also have original coming) New front seats and steering wheel Weather protection on all underneath body worth welding done on floor panels. New brakes front and rear New inner arches and all panels in matt black primer Obviously an RS nose! Here's some pics: I bought it in Essex and attempted to drive it home - did nearly 400 miles before the studs sheared on the back wheel nearly causing me to hit the central reservation of the M74! Made it home on an AA flatbed! Just waiting for Cragar lug nuts from Customville - I'm replacing all the studs and nuts! I'm already compiling a list of questions to ask here so brace yourselves!! |

Great looking 2nd Gen. Love the stance and that front is my favourite Camaro front. Lucky escape there, glad all were ok. Welcome. |

Thanks all. Not too common for studs to shear - not sure if they were torqued properly. My other theory is the locked diff will put more strain on them - maybe that's bullshit? Either way, I get the bonus of feeling lucky to be alive. Feeling the back end flying about on the motorway is never nice. Sunroof - not sure. See how badly it leaks the first time I'm out in rain I suppose :p And it was a good deal - took another £500 off the price that was on ebay Leaves me enough for a respray - might need to start a poll thread for suggestions! |

You got a bargain with that car! I'd suggest the wheel studs were loose on that wheel. Or the wheels have the wrong bore diameter and were relying on the studs to centre. The wheel should locate on the spigot on the end of the axle... Have fun with it! |

Definitely high up the list of options! Maybe even tied at the top with red/black stripes.Where do folk get ss stripe decals? Not seeing any in any of the limited places I have discovered so far! |
