New user got me a 78 Camaro had it a few years now it eats money for fun. Since I've had her she has had a new 383 engine, gearbox overhaul B&M shift kit, eaton posi rear, uprated suspension lowered springs nylon bushes, Exhaust system, hedman headers, the only thing under the hood which come with the car is the alternator. Blue paint job (metalic) bonnet scoop (because i always wanted one no other reason) new wheels and tyres. Now I am sorting out the interior. I went out and bought a industrial sewing machine for £150 and have spent the last 3 weeks sewing straight lines on some off cuts of vinyl. So far I have unpicked both the old rear bottom cushions made patterns and cut out and sewed them together, I've gone for a cream vinyl with blue stitching just waiting for my hog ring pliers to arrive so i can fit them to the seat frames. I will be putting on pictures of before and after no matter what they look like when finished, the rest of the interior i'm going to spray to match the seats and the headlining i'm going to cover in faux suede. sounds good in theory. I'm going to take my time I have a year to complete it as my son wants to use the car for his wedding car. (I knew there was a reason for buying this money pit) The wife says it's too noisy and people are attracted to it like flies to you know what. as soon as I work out how to upload images or if anyone can help I'll stick on the photo's I have already. |

Hi Keith, Welcome to the club! Nice to see another late 2nd gen Sounds like some good work has been done on the car and i'm very intrigued about the customer interior! To upload pics, we encourage the use of hosting services such as photo bucket (works easily with our site). This takes the load off of our servers which otherwise means we reach our bandwidth limit quickly, resulting in the site halting. Most of us on here use photo bucket, so if you need any help there's plenty about. It's quite easy to use - setup a free account, create an album and start uploading pics. Each pic will have a link, just copy the one that starts and end with [IMG] [IMG] as that way it automatically loads into your post. Thanks and look forward to seeing the work you've been putting in! hello and welcome... Look forward to seeing the car, and another 2nd gen too !!!!! The interior plan sounds like fun, and learning to upholster to do it even more challenging (you never know, you might get some offers of interior upgrades and become an expert seat recoverer if it comes out well) What's the spec on the 383 - crate engine, standard ? |

Nice, mines pretty much the same with the RPM cam, good for a genuine dynoed 430bhp (Edelbrock reckon 460, but add PS pump, alternator, fan etc.. it's about right ) |
