Car Details:Camaro genII 1978 LT with later heads from IROC Edelbrock 600cfm carb and performer inlet manifold and period wheels.
All factory items fitted and working. Aircon and Cruise
Silver with Ox blood interior.
Mayb silly question but how do i tell if i got egr or not? Those manifolds state non egr.

My present carb is about 360 cmf 2bbl. Was thinking 500 cmf 4 bbl? Headers to follow after researching them to avoid gear shifter linkage problems as floor shift n dash gear indicator.

Plus got a 255/60/15 and a 275/60/15 tyre for sale as new. Where best to sell?

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
It´s nestles under the carb flange, passenger side, a triangular pad.
The manifold comes with a plate to block it off if you so desire.

What heads do you have, year exactly ?
If I use 1987-95 as mentioned before in a Summit search I get Square/Spread Bore Flange.
It´s best to get a manifold dedicated to a four barrel and I´d go
for a 600 or 650 carb, if you want some push.... :D
The EDL-3706 doesn´t seem to have a water crossover...exactly, I see only one port on the pass. side rear.

I used an Airgap with Square/Spread Bore Flange and a four barrel, never was happy with the mismatch.
Now I have the Airgap RPM much better.

This vid will give you the feel.....

I am up in Norfolk near Thetford but from Brighton originally but lots of years ago.....

Still cant work out best manifold and carb combo! Head spinning with choice, plus not sure really what to get with regards
with serial numbers and correct manifold for year. lol must be blonde at the moment.

Can anybody recommend a place in Norfolk/Suffolk who can supply items?

Seen a place in Wymondum that seems quite good.

Got the money just want to spend it now ha ha ha.

Go to Summit.com, you can plug in your car make, year etc when searching for parts.
http://www.summitracing.com/

There is Wisbech American Street & Performance - Car Parts in Wisbech PE14 8AN http://www.waspspeedshop.com/
Also http://www.realsteel.co.uk/
Unit 9, Tomo Industrial Estate, Packet Boat Lane
Cowley, Middlesex, England. UB8 2JP
Tel: 01895 440505 Fax: 01895 422047

I prefer to order direct, from Summit it´s just over a week delivery and you don´t pay the middle man on top of
import etc.
You can select iparcel delivery which pays your import up front, comes to your door "clean".

RockAuto.com is a good place for stock items.
http://www.rockauto.com/

They also let you pay import (tick the box) when you do the checkout process.

Have ordered some bits and pieces from USA like fender to radiator braces and coolant expansion tank top and not received any import costs. Only postage and price of the item?
Is it only over a certain price/cost that import (tax I assume) comes into effect?

At the moment running 225/60/15 front tyres that are pirelli

need to replace them as been under inflated for while as was in storage and have gone funny shape.

Any recommendations for tyre choice on the front. Steering very light and twitchy but haven't checked the tracking yet.

Hi Jim, yes that's correct - VAT is charged on goods imported above the value of 15GBP. Customs duty is kicks in at above 130GBP (so you now pay both VAT and Customs).

Rockauto already include UK VAT in their prices, and declare this to HMRC & IRS as they use a HMRC agent. In other words, they collect the VAT in the U.S and then send the cash over to HMRC. Saves you having to deal with it, very handy! I think they include customs too? I haven't ordered from them yet, but several folk on here have so i'm sure they can advise about customs duty (if they had to pay it).

Customs Charges applicable

£0.01 to £15
No customs duty
No Import VAT

£15.01 to £135
No customs duty
Import VAT due (usually 20%)

£135.01 and greater
Customs duty due, but waived if the amount calculated due is less than £9
Import VAT due

One last hurdle. Want to make sure manifold n carb combo fit under bonnet which is stock 78 camaro LT so no inlet in middle.
Has to include air filter height too. Doing my head in.

It should fit fine, but if you go for an Airgap manifold it will be fractionally higher, often solved with a drop base air filter which gives some extra clearance.. worked for me !!
