Tim, have you got electronic copy of article? I can't stick paper up here! I'm retreating into "lurker" mode. You guys are keeping yourselves entertained now, I just keep an eye on things. Tim still owes me lunch for setting this website up 2 years ago or whenever it was! |

Dates for 2011 event are: 28-30 April All I want for EASTER is… An entry for the 2011 Manx Classic! With less than five months to go, plans for the 2011 Manx Classic are in full swing. The dates for 2011 are: Thursday 28th April, Friday 29th April and Saturday 30th April. Supplementary Regs and entry forms are available to download here: http://www.manxmotorracing.com/events.htm (regs and forms can be posted out too, email or write to us – contact details below). Thanks to all of you who’ve already sent in your entry forms, we’re looking to keep entries sec Bill W very busy over the next few months! We’ve had some good press coverage lately, including items in Octane, PreWar Car, Auto Motor Klassiek and Speedscene. Extra Bank Holiday - Friday 29th April Now officially confirmed in both the UK and the Isle of Man, Friday 29th April will be a bank holiday, so we’re looking forward to even more entries, helpers and spectators - we can’t think of a better place to be on a bank holiday Friday than at the Sloc Hillclimb! Extended Hours for the Governor’s Sprint We were delighted that the inaugural Governor’s Sprint was so well received by both competitors and spectators this year - it was great to see such an enthusiastic crowd stood on the TT Grandstand watching cars off the start-line - so we’re very pleased we will be running it again, and in an extended format, in 2011. We’ve secured three extra hours of road closure time, from 12 noon to 3pm, allowing for a practice session in the afternoon and leaving the 6pm to 9.30pm slot for timed competitive runs. So, with the afternoon road closure almost doubling the hours available to us on the Thursday, there’ll be three whole days of sport to look forward to in 2011. Want to Help? If you or anyone you know would like to help out at the Manx Classic, for one day or all three, we’re always very happy to recruit new helpers, especially marshals. Advice and support is always provided and we make sure our helpers are well fed each day – oh, and of course you get to see some great motorsport too. If you’d like to find out more please contact our Chief Marshal, Paul Dewar: mobile: 07624 420955 email: paul.dewar@manx.net Special Rates for the Manx Classic We’ve agreed special rates with both the Steam Packet (for ferry crossings and for inclusive travel & hotel deals) and with the Mount Murray hotel just outside Douglas (which has a large, off road car park) for accommodation. These rates are available for all attending the Manx Classic, competitors, marshals, spectators, officials, you just need to quote the reference number/follow the booking instructions. Find out more at: http://www.manxmotorracing.com/events.htm#travel (or email us for details: mmrc@manx.net) Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ManxMotorRacing and check our website for regular updates: www.manxmotorracing.com Contact us By email to: mmrc@manx.net or write to us at: PO Box 359, Douglas, Isle of Man IM99 3EU. Thanks! The Manx Classic 2011 is sponsored by Celton Manx Ltd. Find out more about Celton Manx and our other local supporters: http://www.manxmotorracing.com/links.htm - and please give your support those who support Manx motorsport. Have a Very Merry Christmas – we look forward to seeing you at the Manx Classic in April! Organising Committee Manx Motor Racing Club |

I'm retreating into "lurker" mode. You guys are keeping yourselves entertained now, I just keep an eye on things. Tim still owes me lunch for setting this website up 2 years ago or whenever it was! I will send you the article- perhaps it should go into the TCB Racing part of the site? And whilst at it I should try to send you the articles on the success in South Africa- article expected in next week's Independent(IOM newspaper) Yes I do owe you lunch! Perhaps we can sort it out when we have all the Manx Yanks to my place to look at the Sky Tv Rapid Motion programmes of that GREAT race this year................... when the DVDS finally arrive from South Africa of course! You keep lurking! Note to Forum Members Steve has been pretty busy of late (exactly how many children do you now have Steve?) - so many in fact that he has built an A-Team Chevy van to move em about! |
