Hey, can any one help?
I have a 69 Camaro with a Summit Racing rear diff / disc brake set up.
We've adjusted the hand brake and fitted new pads but just can not bleed the brakes.
Any one got any ideas?
Two of us have been bleeding the system for ages and the pedal still goes straight to the floor.

HELP!

Thank you.

Assuming there's not a growing puddle of fluid appearing on the floor, it sounds like you have a lot of air in it.

Have you bench bled the master cylinder?

After that, try gravity bleeding till some fluid appears, then go back to pump bleeding.

Hi
do you have a dual master cylinder , circuit for front & circuit for rears ? hold off valve ?

if you do you definately need to do a bench bleed, I rehoned , & overhaul my dual delco on my 67 big block & it took nearly 1 hour to bleed off the car for the rears ( drums) .
if its on the car get some rags around the master cylinder , one pump the pedal slowly & the other watch for any bubbles /fountain in the rear resevoir ( obviously usal precautions safety goggles 8-) ).

Thanks for the tip.
Still fighting with the brakes on this car.
They just don't want to work.

Fingers crossed for progress this week.

Hi
also I've remembered do you have the BIG block valve under the drivers side on the chassis rail, could be worth checking that.
btw is it the original dual master cylinder ? did you rebuild it or aftermarket one ? is the brake push rod from the pedal in place/correct length ?

don't want to teach you to suck eggs, have you broken the system down in parts ? (messy I know), can you get fluid to the union at the rear axle, then to the union before the caliper pipe, etc etc
