Hi firebird,my 68 has a Bill Mitchell all alloy 427/454 engine, the engine is all marked up 454 but after contacting Bill Mitchell an giveing them the numbers they don,t have any records. It was built an used in the states for track/slalom raceing haveing 4 link rear, all round coilovers, chassis conectors, rose jointed bars etc.6 pot willwood front brakes with 4 pot willwood rear disc,s,12 bolt narrowed rear axle with main shafts.Me an my son are hopeing to do some trackdays with the car but the exhaust is so loud at the moment being 3" with empty flowmasters!.The car is booked in to haywood an scott for a better system that will come out of the rear with 4 silencers.I have a spare set of the american raceing mags that ive put toyo 888,s on the front but have trouble finding 315,s for the rear at the moment/The car has a richmond 5 speed box with carbon clutch. The interior has all been retrimmed in black leather with original carpet.

Some serious power there for sure 8-)
Those alloy big blocks from BMP save weight and have some nice features, solid power makers for sure!
Hope to see your car some time, sounds like the owner in the US knew what he was doing and wasn't afraid to spend some big $$

Just reviewed your car and spotted my mistake , your engine is a small block

I used the car yesterday an went for drive, suddenly the oil pressure dropdown to 20lb.The oil pressure is normally 80 psi on start up cold an then drops to 60 psi at 2000 rpm and 35 psi on tickover hot. It,s now 20 psi at 2000rpm so not good.I changed the oil an filter last week an after this happened yesterday a few people i spoke to said change the filter in case it has callapsed inside.I changed the filter today an it has made no differance so im thinking maybe a main bearing has spun,I have the choice now of getting it repaired or selling the car as is.
