Does anyone know where the indicators are on a 1969 Standard Camaro on the front and rear? Do I need them for an MOT pass if they were not as standard from when it left the factory in 1969? Thankyou, Kieran |

69 Camaro indicators are in the front markers (round lights under the front bumper) and part of the brake lights at the rear. Typical American light setup for the period. Not legal in the UK, will not pass an MOT (unless BENT) Very simple to sort out, sure I've posted here before about this. You need a pair of 7 inch left-dip headlamps (Halogen is good) with integral side lights. Very common, used on Minis, Land Rovers, Escorts and loads others (Ebay is your friend.) Split the sidelight wire from the lamps under the bumpers and route to the headlamp side lights, the 3 pin main connector goes straight on for high beam and dip. Keep the indicator wire to the lamps that you colour orange (Bulbs are made that colour if you want) or the lens may be orange already. At the rear, easiest way is use the reversing lamp (white) lens with amber bulb by cutting the brake light wires in the boot and routing to the amber (reversing light) bulbs. You then need to run a new, dedicated brake lamp wire from the switch at the pedal back to both the (now disconnected) brake lights. Done it loads of times and it works and is legal. HTH Cheers, Martin PS, we need a pic of your car! |

Yes you do need UK spec lighting for the MOT. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. |
