Dear All Thought it about time I updated everyone on Camilla's news! well I got hitched again last weekend and Camilla did the honours taking us to and from the church Not before a last minute panic when the alternator light came on- Real Steel rushed me a new one and I had it fitted the day before. A friend brought his 1927 RR to ferry all the children Anyway last year the coil gave up- and I am convinced that the water pump is on its way- as it is very important to keep her numbers matching I dropped her off with the race team who are going to do some fettling on the shopping list rebuild top end engine- repaint and fit my spare race oil pan- might fit some aluminium heads fit a posi LSD on the 10 bolt fit new heater matrix fit auto trans cooler fit new brake balance unit and generally tidy her up Any advice on where to find an LSD posi and yet keep the high 2.73:1 gearing on a 10 bolt gratefully received |

Great to see Camilla as part of the big day ! They will never make a convertible as beautiful as the '67/'68 Camaro... That's what I would call finishing off the big event in style Congrats. |

Congratulations to you both I don't think the standard LSD clutches will fit in the smaller carrier of the 273 ring gear? I've not seen an LSD that low but there may be. I don't like driving with an LSD on our small/Slippery Cornish roads anyway, I don't find it an advantage (may be pulling away in the snow every 4-5 years) unless Camilla is a Manual or you have a lot of horse power you may not like it |

Camilla does not have much horsepower maybe 250 ! but she easily spins away traction on the inside wheel when pulling out of junctions. since a little more power is expected with new heads I much prefer an LSD posi unit. I have driven many variations of this - with modern electronic nonsense- but the only true way is a mechanical LSD- no surprise that Birds now fit Quaife LSD units in modern BMWs that continue to omit them (for cost reasons as std equipment?) |

Too much gravel! seriously though I am banned from doughnuts -- ever since I bent my 12 bolt doing doughnuts at Brands Hatch I said well hang on I have done these before- my guys said yes that was fine with 396 bhp then but you now have almost 500 bhp = too much for the stock 12 bolt axle - and this was in 1998 We have a bit more HP now so doughnuts are off the menu - unless seriously low traction- ice or gravel................... |

OK well if you want to do doughnuts then may be you need a second gen axle? the LSD unit is stronger and its a inch wider overall. And it just so happen's that I have one with the perches altered to fit which came of my 67 Convertible Firebird |
