When I bought this '69 Camaro it was pointed out that it had a 67 dash.... Since then I bought a new 1969 interior mirror for it but none of the holes line up with the holes in the roof panel.... So what I've been wondering is I assume its just easy enough to stick on 67 rear quarters, tail panel and all the front sheet metal and make it a 67 (or 68) shape camaro as all these panels are going to be replaced on mine in due course anyway.... ( yes, I know the VIN will give it away as a 69, so this is just a theoretical question!) Are there any obvious differences between the 67,68 and 69 body tubs that would enable someone to know what tub they are looking at? |

hi this is not as easia as it sounds because if you change the rear quators there is also the rear wheel tubs to change as the 67 have rounder arches and the 69 have square and also the inner rear pannel and mabe the boot floor are different and iam sure the doors are different but am not a 100% on that hope this helps and if your defo sure you wana change your 69 my dad has a 67 and i could double check things for thanks shaun |

Don't forget that the 67 had the rear shocks mounted on same side 68 and later had staggered shocks to prevent axle tramp- so pichups are different Doors are different But the 68 panels can be bolted on to a 67- Penske did it in 1968! |

There's a shed load of differences between the '67-'68 & the '69 when you finally get down to it. I see no point whatsoever in trying to do this, just replace the panels with '69 parts first as last. With all of the Government regulations coming into force regarding modifying cars, the last thing you need is to cause yourself some possible problems further down the line cheers...Nige |
