Car Details:!967 First Generation - Silhouette!
Ive always wanted one, had hot rods galore, when this came up for sale, it was not an option not to own it. Built by Mick Cooke back in the early 70s I remember seeing the car at indoor CC shows such as Belle View, and had pics on my bedroom wall. It re surfaced less its blower motor in a field, its life today is owed to Nigel Clarkson who found her in a field, its now up to me to bring trophies, mags and books, etc etc back together and stick a blower on. Easy when you say it fast! Anyway enjoy I love her. First three pics is how she was in the 70's.

Hiya Russ, welcome to the forum, thanks for posting the pics & a bit of the history. This car is a really iconic car & for those that don't know it, it was extremely famous/popular back in the late '70's early '80's & won trophies at just about every show it attended & boy did it attend shows. Any idea how many trophies it won Russ??.

I can honestly blame this car for me wanting to get a 1st gen back in 1980. However I couldn't find a tidy Camaro so I settled for the next best thing & bought a '69 Firebird.

Keep the info & pics coming Russ,.....Love it

cheers...Nige

Thanks Guys.
Ive traced the trophies to a guy called Bruce Screen, who bought bthe car and pulled out the blower motor to put it in an iconic imported street rod, so not much chance of getting it back i think
He swopped the shell to a guy who did the engine swop, he was armed with good intentions and never did anything for seven years the car ended up in a field, so thats another gap filled.
However  in finding that out, he kept the trophies. There are 57 from Uk, Sweeden, France, and Belgium, amazed! Anyhow, I was speaking to a mate of mine who told me he was going down to Roy Wildings to get some chassis work done to his Model T Race car, another conversation later that day I found another pal who knows Bruce who has the Trophies and lives round the corner from Roy, got the picture yet?
Anyhow, the trophies will be back with me next week. :D

Ive got the other bonet - the original one for the blower, so its coming back together in the memory of Mick Cook, and its a pleasure doing it not only for an Iconic car, but because its many components of everything ive always wanted.
Ill keep you updated as and when.
Cheers for now.
Russ.

Very happy for you , I was trying to buy silhouette from Nigel but u beat me too it.
Well done and so glad you intend to keep the MC tribute alive?
I know where he blower engine is as I am sure you do, but would be glad to help.
I have just bought 427 yank spec as I had not the budget to get your car back to it's rightful spec with the blower.
Congrats it's the most fabulous car.

I think the guy I know - who really knows him might be able to.
That was the route I was going down.
I will get back in contact with him and see what I can find out for you.

I picked my 69 Camaro up today and its now in my garage with both sons adoringly exploring every inch, Daughter like the colour and wife looking boot faced as expected. At least I get up early in the spare room and do some work on it.

Phill
