Hi, I’ve been sorting through some old photos and came across some of a ’69 I bought as a one UK owner full documented history car and it started the memories flowing. The original intention was to drive for a while & sell it on but actually drove it as it was bought for 3 – 4 years and after a repaint + bits & pieces ended up keeping it for nearly 20yrs. I’d be interested to know if anyone has seen or know of it’s history since I sold it in about 1999 – 2000. Here's a link http://s1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb341/CBM796/ to a picture taken just before repaint and 3 just before a her very sad departure. |

Thats pretty interesting - two 69's both registered in 1972 and only 20 digits out... ! Mine was registered 2 Aug 1972 DVLA show the following so its out there somewhere. I assume it could either be SORN or TAXED up to Jan 2012 by the info below? The vehicle details for MLL 60L are: Date of Liability 01 01 2012 Date of First Registration 14 08 1972 Year of Manufacture 1970 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5034CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour RED |

Thanks for the info, it’s weird that it shows 1972 though as mine was definitely bought new in the UK in 1970 as the car came with all the original sales invoices and full service history. |

What was the registration number in 1970?? It certainly wouldn't have had an "L" registration plate on it, or was it first registered in '72??.

I can't remember now (always regret not photocopying all the documentation) but it was a US reg and bought (can't even remember the dealers name now) here in West London. The original owner was over here in the forces, i seem to remember there being some reciepts from the High Wycome Base Hobbyshop. It's funny how this has kicked off all sorts memories in my aging empty head about all my old Camaro's (i had "the set of 3" at one time '67' '68 & '69) that I had'nt thought about for many years |
