I didn't. I couldn't afford a 1st gen so got a 4th. Is there much of a price difference between a 1st gen Camaro and a 68 Pontiac GTO ? |

1st Gens are the Dons, the Godfathers and cost accordingly. I have a second gen which as time goes on will be worth more. I aesthetically prefer the early 2nd gens but respect all 'Maro's. |

Been in to yanks musclecars for a long time, then my mate went and bought a Mustang Mach1 (think it was a '70). We used to go to a place in Beckenham to have work done on it, and everytime I tagged along, , I kept seeing this Red 67 Camaro, totally mint sitting in the workshop....fell in love with it, and started looking for a 1st Gen.....and finally got my 68 at the end of 1990 (just before the Gulf War!). |

Bit of a hard one to answer really , I guess it depends on what condition the GTO is in compared to a 1st gen, plus of course it depends on what year 1st gen we're talking about. I was told of a stacked headlight GTO that might be for sale needing a restoration for £550.00 the other day if that's of use to anyone. Is there much of a price difference between a 1st gen Camaro and a 68 Pontiac GTO ? Cheers.....Nige |

Cheers.....Nige My question about the price differences assumed that both cars were in identical condition (I should have said). Let's say both are 68s, both standard, identical mileage, both MOT'd for 12 months, basically the question is whether one is considered more valuable than the other for whatever reason ? Corvettes are considered more valuable than a GM car with the same engine, I just wondered if there was a similar thing between the early Camaro and GTO ? |

Simple really easier and cheaper to tune and maintain than the Mustnag. Better suspension design. You can get children in the back Half decent boot Brilliant engines Aerodynamically better than Corvette of same era Originator of the Coke Bottle design I bought my two in 1988 and 1989 respectively-- and they are still proving handy on the track and I took the convertible on a little Classic car rally on Sunday with my children in the back/top down- bliss!! regards Topcat |
