The painter was laying out the black stripes on the fenders and the header pannel, which is why they are not shown here.

The last of the pictures for now, Money being more of a factor than time, I am out for now. I will be bringing the car home for the winter. As money permits I will start working on the interior, the wiring, and in the spring, I am going to install the engine and transmission. This has been a real progress year. I just hope to keep it going.

This was an L30M20 car sent to Germany in August of 1967 for a Race team there. I am in the process of rebuilding it.
The Engine I have built is a 1992 Chevrolet Truck 383 (5.7 four bolt main .030 over with a 5.7 inch stroke) with one piece Rear Main Seal. I had the machine work done at Schmidt’s Performance where it was placed on the Dyno after it was finished. It is turning 539 HP and 509 ft lbs Torque. I plan to finish the interior of the car over the winter, and install the engine and transmission in the Spring. I do not have the transmission yet, I dropped the Muncie 4 speed for a TKO 600. I want to be able to drive the car in the Hot Rod Power Tour next year, and needed the OD to give the car some Highway Manners.
I did hit the wall on finances this year, the body build was a little over what I expected, so the build is going to slow down for a few months. Body work is always the worst on these old ones. You never know how deep it is going to go to do them correctly. I went to the extreme so I would never have to do it again. I must say I am pleased with how it turned out.
The wheels are going be 16” Torq Thrust Gray Center wheels with 232 55vr16 Michelin Tires. Most around here go with BF Goodrich TA’s but they can be scary in the rain. With the power my car pushes, I need something that will hold the ground.
When I finish the rear end, I am going to put Disk Brakes with Red Powdercoated single piston calipers with 11 inch rotors and Parking brake. This kit was only $300 powdercoated on EBay.

The engine is a mild 383 (6.27 liter)
 (5.7 liter-350 cu in block, with 4.030 bore
and 3.750 in stroke)
 The Engine has 10-1 compression
 MAHLE forged pistons flat tops SBC-425030F05. +
 Eagle 5.7 H-Beam Connecting Rods
 Forged Summit One Piece Rear 383 Crank
 Fluidamper Harmonic Damper P/N 712615
 Ram Clutch 98760 Powergrip Performance
 Fidanza Flywheel Part# 198531 C2
(For all internally balanced custom built large displacement small-block V8s.)
 AFR 195 Eliminator cylinder heads
 Comp Cams Pro Magnum SS Full Roller Rockers 1.6 ratio
 Comp Cams Pushrods
 Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller Cam
.536 intake, .544 Exhaust 110 Separation
 Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller Lifters
 Crane Rocker Stud Girdle
 AFR HydroRev kit to keep the lifters in their holes
 Edelbrock Performer RPM AirGap Intake
 BG Demon 750 AV Carb (650 cfm)
 The Distributor is a Mallory Unilite
 1 5/8 in headers with 3"Collectors
 The Transmission is a 4 speed Muncie Transmission.
 CSI Electric Water Pump
 100amp Alternator
 The 12 bolt rear end is 3.73
 The tires are 225/60VR15
 Ram Clutch 98760 Powergrip Performance

I am still waiting to get it home. I have to run the wires through the car, lay in the Hushmat under the carpet, and above the headliner, install the interior, and of course the engine and transmission. I am looking at having it done in time for the Hotrod Power Tour in the spring. They drive across the country in their hotrods. I say why build it if you can't drive it? This was a real big amount of money at one time, and that also will slow things down a little. I am ok with the delay in order to get the job done correctly.
I actually had a couple of years invested collecting parts for this build. Now it is moving so fast going together it is good to be able to slow down a bit.

They floor was finished today. They sprayed it with Raptor to protect it from the elements. The car is going to be a driver. A Real Nice Driver.
