I think there's a general movement away from air shocks - the shock towers not being designed to take that much stress kind of thing.

For a product review, i'm not sure if anyone has them but i'm sure they will chime in if they do.

Car Details:79' camaro road & track day toy. 383 stroker, 5 speed TKO trans, lots of suspension stuff, 13" Vette brakes, 18" wheels.
Location:Luton
Definately better to get some decent performance gas shocks from Koni, Bilstein, Edelbrock or similar.. (avoid KYB).

As said previously, air shocks just transfer the weight to the shock tower which isn't designed take the full weight of the rear of the car, as this is the springs job. They also make the ride very harsh and the handling tail happy.

Many people fit them as a quick fix for old sagging springs, when the solution really is just to replace the 40+ year old worn out springs.

Thank's for the feedback and info guys.
The main reason I want to fit these is when the car is loaded with the kids and wife (plus the wife's shopping, handbag exc) the axle hits the exhaust
My ride height is fine.
With the monoleaf set up on my 67 I don't think it can take all the weight, and having a 2 1/2" magnaflow exhaust trying to flow over the axle.

I've got upgraded Hotchkis springs (175 lb I think), and it still bottoms out at the rear. ..
needs to be fairly softly sprung at the rear of these cars for semi decent ride and handling, but it's a design compromise in reality.

completely agree !

far better to upgrade your rear springs with multi leafs - or even carbon fibre!
