Dear All
Can't believe that I am the first to post in this section!
Anyway we have bought a GMC Vandura Camper
beside myself with excitement - collect tomorrow in Manchester fly in and ferry back via Liverpool
hopefully some pictures here

it defo is the right one since it is less than 6.5 metres = quite compact and therefore quite reasonable on ferry crossings!

one more+
Image
it is also RHD and has the non turbo 6.2 diesel (allegedly 30 mpg!!!??)

Nice looking rig Tim! Ideal accommodation for racedays. I'd love one myself but just not practical the way things are right now.
Cheers, Martn

That's a nice looking camper, are you looking to use it for holidaying or for added comfort at the track? if it's at the track, does that mean you'll be trailering Butch?

cheers...Nige

Nice looking camper TC. Brings back memories. We use to have a Dodge Jamboree previously owned by a speedway rider, this was back in 1983 when petrol was alot cheeper. It had a 7.2lt petrol engine and the fuel gauge use to move almost as quick as the speedo  but we had a lot of fun with it and lived in it for almost a year. Happy days. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we did.

Thought I would give an update on the Camper

fitted some lovely Momo sand leather seats from Ebay (£75) the pair plus rather more to fit

huge expense for lock on side door and new fuse thingie

MOT engine steamclean and some chassis welding all done
she now doesn't smoke on startup

have ordered some new door rubbers and am looking at a front carpet set

all in all it is a wonderful Camper with hardly worn mechanicals and an unmarked interior

probably benefited from a run at 65-70 mph 300 mile drag inverness to IOM

Doesn't smoke anymore on startup!

would like to get the a/c back working again- any contacts/experiences?

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
Can't see the pictures :?: :?:
Sounds like a good vehicle, had a couple of G 30 vans, one a panel van, the other a chevy "Family Wagon" which was a type of basic surf van with a little fridge and sink.
Mine were 350 petrol with auto, very relaxing to drive and great for towing.
The 6.2 diesel would give sensible mpg especially with the later type overdrive gearboxes.
