Well, haven't been on here for ages!! Good to see the forum is still running, and more activity than I remember too!!

Does this mean theres more Camaros in the UK suddenly, or you guys getting desperate to patch them up?! :wtf:
From the ones Ive seen for sale, sure isnt any money been spent on them much, apart from one I saw on ebay with a £5k muffler from a lambo! Money spend well im sure :lolno:

So Im slowly upgrading my 305 RS, been at it for quite some time and found most the parts I want.

However, theres still some left on the list, hopefully you guys on here can help with that.

I'm after a steering box from an IROC/ Trans Am which would be a 12.7 ratio. It is possible to check them if you have one kicking around and arent sure what the ratio is.

Also an axle with 28 splines and 3. something gears would be great. These can be found in '90+ v6s, z28s, IROCs, but not the 305 RS unless its a manual. Either that or a 9 bolt, which were in '87-'89 IROC/ Trans Am, just count the cover bolts...

If you have some aftermarket parts I may well be interested in them as well, especially 17" wheels

Just drop me a PM :chevy:

78, thanks for the heads up on those, ebay can be quite a good source of parts but im not convinced about those ones. Looks like a pile of worn junk for the first lot and I can't identify the other steering box, so its probably not worth the risk. I can get a box from the states rebuilt for that money in any case, just I was hoping not to resort to fiscal torture :tired:

You're welcome, they looked a bit hit and miss. Have you managed to get any luck with Rocky? He's got a few 3rd gens in for breaking, hopefully has a steering rack that you can make use of?

Thanks for the links but Ive really had enough of dealing with the sellers, unless they have clear and detail photos identifying the parts and a list of prices its a waste of time. Most them dont even know what year or spec they have and have idea or inclination to even bother to find out. The stories I could tell you of absolute bunk they make up or rediculous prices etc.

Just for laughs heres a typical example of what i mean; a camaro thats just popped up on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371494585995? ... e6108&cp=1

Doesn't look so bad till you look at some of the pics, notice the location in the building, wont be pushing that one out then and the brakes will be seized up! The amount of dust and crud on it kinda tells you its been there for years! :lolno:
Oh and spot the wiring hanging out of the absant lower dash covers?
Hmmm is that the ECU connector hanging there and part of a wiring harness near the drivers door thats been hacked? :wtf:
Note the description in large colourful print doesnt mention anything about that....

I asked the guy about the wiring and he gave me some long rambling yarn which cumulated with offering to tuck the wires out the way if I gave him the asking price !!  Must think im a retard and that really is the worst insult in my book.

Sure it will be a "bargain" for some sucker sadly
