If you are used to browsing this forum you will know my car well. Here are some details:
1983 Chevrolet Camaro Crossfire with rare composite hood. This has the induction flaps that open under hard acceleration. Hoods like these are regularly making $500 to $1000 in the states with working mechanisms.
The car was originally a 5.0l 305 CID but has been replaced with a 250BHP Goodwrench with four bolt mains. It has Holley Rocker covers fitted. It gives good oil pressure (60 PSI) and never overheats. I have replaced the alternator, temp sensor, temp sender. It does leak a little (Show me one that doesn't) but pulls very strongly and is very smooth, almost silent on warm tickover. It starts first time every time regardless of the weather (How many carb cars can claim that?) It is fitted with a four speed transmission that pulls smoothly. It has a 3:08:1 rear which means that it has a good top end and will still accelerate hard past 100 mph. The emissions gear and AC have long since been removed. I believe it has a flow master backbox. It certainly burbles nicely without being intrusive. Its a lot more throaty than a 5.0l
The bodywork is very good with no rust around the T-Tops. It has been resprayed in Lamborghini Gallo Fly during the past year. Its no show winner but buffs up nicely. One wheel arch is done perfectly, the other hasn't been finished as well but its certainly passable. It has a reversed bumblebee stripe on the hood. The car has had new rubbers but they don't seem to fit perfectly and consequently the T-tops can leak. A bit of fiddling should see it right. I have the original T-tops bag. It has had a new roof liner as well. The car is fitted with American Racing 17" rims and Toyo Proxes tyres. I have a receipt for £1500 for these alone.
Interior wise she has had a brand new leatherette trim fitted that matches the paintwork. She's also had a new carpet and a chrome steering wheel fitted. All the guages work and she has a Sony CD fitted with a Vibe amp and two 10" subs.
Recently, I have:
Given a full service including all filters and plugs.
Completely rebuilt the rear brakes with new shoes, cylinders, lines, drums and springs.
Bled and refilled the cooling system.
She's a cracker of a car but I fancy a change so may be open to a swap. If not, then she's £4900 OVVNO.
