well what a year for me    Split with the ex now split with her replacement    and then to cap it all off given my position it looks like the best thing for me to do will be to sell the SS, I really can't justify using her as often as I'm going to have to and so am probably going to buy something running on devil juice (aka diesel)... currently thinking along the lines of 406 coupe or MGZT both of which should top 50mpg on a run (as well as having some street presence!)

just curious to see if there's anyone looking for an SS in particular or if there's any interest in general. Usual SS spec A4, leather, CC, steering wheel stereo controls (a la TransAm) etc etc. Unusually this is a hard top SS (apparently this is v.rare) so no problems with leaky t-tops and a far more rigid body if you're bothered about that. Other than that it has a Parrot Mki 9100 fitted so hands free for telephone calls as well as iPod functionality (or USB). Fully striped up with 35th anniversary stripes, custom dials (these are guaranteed unique to the car and are quite stunning), anthracite 17" 10 spoke alloys. Michelin pilots on the rear, nearly new, Dunlops on the front, about 3.5mm. Condition-wise it's not a show car but a good tidy usable FUN drive...

I'd be looking for offers over £7.25k which will include the non-age related plate

the new dials are replacement faces rather than overlays and as you can see from below are totally unique to the car

dude - tell me about it finally getting on towards having the car looking how I want it and the sensible thing to do is let it go     mind you I'm not sure if I should really push for it to go making a clean break (ironically enough the reason it has to go :lolno: ) or dither a little more and keep enjoying it until someone 'makes me an offer I can't refuse' (which isn't smart financially speaking but emotionally.....)

Don't make a knee jerk decision, wait a while & see if it's what you really want to do. I don't get why you want to sell it to "make a break". Did she buy the car, I guess not? did she drive the car as much as you, probably not, did you go out in it more than her I guess you did. Therefore I don't see why the car is linked to her. I'm guessing it's not the cars fault she's gone, the car should be the thing that takes your mind off the aggro, take it out & enjoy it, you'll only regret it if you sell it

cheers...Nige

lol I see the confusion there - however selling is going to be cold hard logic with no emotion at all (it's me being emotional about it has meant I've still got it!!)... no the car was going to be my prode and joy for a few years to come however having no money at all really means it's got to go (and I'm already regreting it even before I've sold it!!!) and replaced with something at about 50% of sale price t'other 50% going into savings and emergency money fund
