Post subject: | Rebuilt TH350 transmission |
I've rebuilt this transmission from parts I've had sitting around for ages - time to get rid of it! I normally play with Th350s in Vettes but I guess there's no reason not to try this out on you Camaro crowd! The main features: Casing stripped, inspected for casting flaws and bead-blasted to as-new condition. All fasteners re-plated. ALL new bushings. All new METAL thrust washers. All new Torrington thrust bearings. NEW 2nd gear/intermediate one-way roller clutch. All new rubbers/seals/gaskets. New Filter and Vacuum Modulator. All new steel clutch plates and top quality Alto “tan” friction plates. New Intermediate Band Over and above the standard rebuild features, several modifications have been made to the internals to increase durability: FIVE-plate clutch stacks in the Forward, Direct AND Low/Reverse Clutch locations. Three-plate clutch stack in Intermediate (2nd gear) clutch. All clutch plate clearances blueprinted to give positive shift feel, in particular at the intermediate (2nd gear) clutch. Extra-wide direct clutch drum bushing: The design of the TH350 makes it particularly hard on the bushing at this location, a 50% wider bushing is installed here for a longer life. Dual-fed direct clutch piston for firmer 2-3 shift and increased torque capacity. Valvebody modded for improved shift quality. I'm willing to offer a warranty of 12000mile/12months to show my confidence that it's a fine unit. Please get in touch with me via the forum for more details. £800 ONO thanks for looking! Theo |
