Drivers confirmed:
Being yours truly and also David Piper in Camaro

and David Mylchreest in Herman
David has raced at Classic Le Mans and is the TT safety car driver

David Piper is well known to many:

"This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is driven by David Piper and Tim Boles and is entered by TCB Racing. Why is David Piper driving a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro when he is most usually known for his exploits during the 1960’s in Ferrari GTOs, and P4s and the Porsche 917?
The answer of course lies in the fact that David used to race this black 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in the 1968 and 1969 British Touring Car Championship, winning against the favoured front runner Frank Gardner at Crystal Palace in his big block Camaro. Frank went on the win the BTCC.
The background to the black racing Camaro is as ever with stories of David Piper’s exploits a matter of public record and David vs. Goliath achievements. The story began with the Southern based GP Speed Shop which was established in the mid 1960s by South African race mechanic Pierre Du Plessis who worked on Ferraris, GT40s and Lolas and similar from a none too salubrious premises at the Ham, Brentford Middlesex. He saw the opportunity in producing Beach Buggies in the UK, and at last saw his chance when he brought a “Manx” beach buggy kit from the US and stowed it aboard the sleeping compartment of the support vehicle of the Formula 3 team he was working with at that time.
When the kit eventually arrived in the UK Pierre and his partner John Jobber set about designing what became the GP Beach Buggy- GP standing for Grand Prix- it was an immediate hit in London at the time during the swinging sixties, and a boom resulted with GP eventually producing a stretched version and even an LDV pickup- others followed but GP was the UK forerunner of the entire UK Beach Buggy craze.
Pierre Du Plessis managed a racing team in Britain and entered David Piper in the 1968 Black Camaro in the BTCC. Tragically Pierre died at the age of only 38 as a result of appendicitis.
