We've tried a few times but it's been a bit of a challenge trying to get dates together that work for the majority, and also trying to get cars on the road and out of the project stage :shifty:

Are you thinking of Santa Pod?

Santa pod has plenty of facilities , maybe we could piggyback onto a RWYB day first off? There is no shortage of camaros in the UK so surely it can't be that difficult to get a reasonable turnout?

We had a about a dozen or so at the recent American Speedfest in June at Brands Hatch, and as far as I know they all had a great day.. !!! :D
Pod gathering would be possible if you fancy putting it out there...

I don't know about you guys, but i've found that most Camaro owners (not on this forum) tend to stick to themselves. It's strange.. the Mustang guys love a good get together. Are Camaro's the introverts of the muscle cars?

Santa Pod would be a good venue, it's a lot more central... while American Speedfest is an excellent event and i can't wait to go again... the only downside is that it's in the corner of the country. Being in the midlands, i reckon the catchment area for SP is larger and we can see a better turnout? Does anyone have any contacts for organisers there? Even as you say, piggybacking on an existing event would be a good start.

I used to run a rocket car there about ten years ago but don't have any contact details any longer , pod is very central and I could rustle up a 1st , 3rd and 4th gen to come along and play :-)

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
The Mustang and Corvette clubs are both well established and have large groups of active members , but the Classic Camaro Club is only established online and has fewer members and no area reps or regular meets so it will be a struggle to get things moving .
Also some of us are still at the project stage with our cars .
Best bet would be to arrange a proposed national meet at one or two of the bigger existing events
( Mopar Nats ) and give lots of advanced notice to try to get some support from members .
The Brands meet was excellent and could be the start of things to come if people want to make the effort and enjoy driving their cars ...
I hope to be on the road next year and will be aiming to do as many meets and events as I can , weather permitting .

Tagging into the mopars sounds like a good idea, there will always be folk with projects in garages so I don't think we should let that influence things too much?

Hi guys, I totally agree with your comments, Mustang & Corvette are very well established and organised. This year I've been south and north west showing my car. At stars n stripes in Cheshire there was around 60 mustangs celebrating 50th anniversary. There was a lot of Camaros but had nothing to do with this forum.
Even though it's hard to organise im going to try and get a meet every month somewhere in the Midlands and not just for camaros.

I'm sure we could get interest if we all posted details on other forums we frequent ? If we looked at next summer that's quite some time to get people aware and interested, there must be a huge number of camaros in the uk and we don't need em all. I could get it put up on eurodragster easily enough and maybe we could do a webpage about it and link it to this forum? A flyer about it on the site that people could easily print and take to cruises etc? I can feel a plan coming on ......
