Do we ever do club emtries for events?
My local yearly event "The Enfield Pagent of Motoring" (23-25 May), is one I usualy attend as a spectator.
But now I have my Z28, I would liked to have attended as a participant.
However, individual entries are only pre-'84, unless part of a club entry, hence my question.
I see many post-'84 cars there (including, last 2 years, Gen 4 Camaro & Firebird) , but they must be part of clubs.
Any thoughts on the subject?

I could be interested but mines a 1997, if you can organise a club stand maybe a few others would pop along as well

Do they have a website / contact info? I can drop them a mail and ask what their requirements are. Sometimes they require payment / setup a stand etc. other places are happy for you to have an area to congregate the club cars. If it's the latter we're ok, as we don't generate revnue as a club, we don't have the means to go to events where payment etc. is part of it. Usually the second of the two is the case so i'm sure we'd be ok for it

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Is any administrator or similar on here going to do something about this?
If there is a reason why not, at least post a reply stating why.
Not responding at all since I posted a link to the website is not polite.

Hiya, sorry for not replying before, didn't mean to be rude or come across as ignoring the request. It's just me here i'm afraid.

I look after the web side of things mainly, things like log in issues, site maintenance, to keep the place running etc. so the little time i have spare goes mainly on that and then i come over to the user side when i can and post / reply when i have a few minutes spare.

Last year was the first time we did a club event ever i think, which was at Speedfest and they are so well organised there it made it easy to work on. Some events run into admin fun times and money issues (which we don't have as we don't generate profit (or revenue)). In fact, I'm £120 out of pocket for a banner from Speedfest last year. Will keep reusing the banner but the cash waved its forever farewell.

I think things will change once my project is done, as i'm spending a lot of time on that (detracting from time being involved with the club) and because it's not done, i can't really get involved in the events side of things (partly because i wouldn't have a Camaro to be on a stand with).

The club conversation has come up a few times and the threads are still kicking about in the General section. In short, the club is really an owners club in the sense that the owners (or future / past owners) make the club vs. a commitee decides what's on for the year. I'm sure there are good and bad sides to that. I don't know if anyone saw the stuff that happened recently at the Pontiac Owners Club, but from what i had read, there was a mass cull made by a committe. Anyway that's a bit off topic but as far as this club goes, there isn't anyone behind the scenes putting stuff together, it's really about what the owners would like to do.

I wonder if maybe we could benefit from have regional appointed members. Maybe split the UK into 4 sections geographically and then each area has a rep that can help organise events. This could help with having more events on and having a 'go to' person when events pop up. Not sure what peoples thoughts are on this, could maybe be the way forward?

That's OK 78, it sounds like you are plenty busy. How far off is your car being back on the road?
I didn't intend to have a go at you, just wanted to know what the situation was, time being short and all.

I have joined Damn Yankees, which has immediately solved my problem of getting on the Enfield Pageant.
And before anyone yells "Traitor", they do not compete with this site.
For a start, they don't have a chat forum of any kind.
But they do attend quite a few events, but I don't think they do American Speedfest.
So there is no overlap of interests.

Let the hate mail begin :D

Car Details:78 350, standard atm............ but I am playing
This is an event I would attend although my 78 would get in, I would rather go with the club as its the Camaro I love form the American muscle scene and would love to have mine along side others, would also be great to meet fellow owners in the London area. oh and the bribery I went through to get an MOT means she will be getting used and abused this year :D
