huge pileup

in the 1 hour master's race:

here's the damage to Butch's sister car- "Big Blue":

Herewith Race Report:
"Following our trip to Spa, Butch has lost the sympathy vote! His dent is a mere flesh wound compared to what poor old Big Blue has just been through! There was an eleven car accident caused by a Jaguar engine blowing up and the whole contents of the oil tank coating the track. NO oil flags were put out! Only Big Blue limped home under his own steam; the rest had to wait for the trailer.
Masters Top Hat Race, 7 minutes from end of 60 minute race.
Chris Scragg’s Jag XJ12 Coupe blew its engine and took out the oil tank. He ended up in the gravel trap.
Oil coated the track like a sea. No oil flags were put out.
38 seconds later, the pack comes round the corner fighting hard and carnage! The Camaro hit the Jag broadside in the gravel.
Eleven cars in total seriously damaged, only the Camaro drove back to the pits. An Aston Martin DB6 completely destroyed. Fortunately no one seriously hurt.
We had just taken a late pit stop and had completed one full lap and were on the second when it happened. So on countback we came away with second overall.
Will be interesting to see what Autosport has to say this week"

Oh Dear!

That's really sad. Odd how the flags were not shown. Hopefully all can be repaired for future battles........
Cheers, Martin

Just shows how strong the Camaro is! they were insured and you can buy a new shell for $13k to reshell the car- which they will be doing- since Big Blue boasts a ZL1 all aluminuim Big block 427

The Aston costs £300,000 to reshell before work starts!!

wasn't Big Blue up for sale recently? is it now with a new owner? Any pics of the car before it was damaged? At one point I was going to replicate the Penske/Donohue car myself, but decided against it in the end & chose the red/black version my car now has. Were any of the other American cars damaged?

cheers...Nige
