Dear All
Looks like we may well be at Brands Hatch racing in the "Swinging Sixties" events over the June Bank Holiday - a special one off held in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

We may be joining a new team- which will be fielding 2 other early Camaros that weekend

Look foward to seeing you there

Will post more info once known!

Largest Collection of V8 Racing HEAVY METAL Thunder in one place at one time on the planet
Venue: Brands Hatch 4 and 5 June 2012
The Royal Diamond Jubilee celebrations extend after the weekend to Brands Hatch on 4th and 5th June 2012 where the Aston Martin St John Horsfall meeting will play host to the greatest gathering of classic racing Heavy Metal V8 THUNDER the world has ever seen.
A total of 170,000 ccs of Classic Camaros, Mustangs and Corvettes will do battle on the famed Brands Hatch Indy Circuit on Monday 4th June at approximately 17.00 hours and then again on Tuesday 5th June just after Lunchtime. Tuesday will showcase a Le Mans style start with drivers lining up opposite their Heavy Metal preparing to sprint into their cars for a Rolling Thunder style start at 12.45. There will be free access to the cars and their drivers from 12.15 in Le Mans positions. There are 32 Heavy Metal contenders in the races, which are divided into M (for “Modified” cars) and F (for FIA “Fairly Standard” cars).
These cars have to be the heaviest startline grid EVER seen in the world, with musclecars doing what their makers intended in the “ponycar” wars of the 1960’s.
This is also the largest collection of racing Camaros the World has ever seen in one place with 9 entered as we go to press.
30th May 2012

Very exciting racing- apparently we may have lit up the classic racing fraternity-
I was a bit disappointed by the lack of spectators and tv cameras (like South Africa) and Butch seemed sooo quiet with the new UK spec 105 db silencers- quite a wide spread of car specifications amongst the entry- Butch was amongst the least modified!

Looks like it was a good day. I will definitely be spectating at any other events that are a little closer to me, and I'm sure others from here will go too. Due to a lack of HSCC racing for me this year (again) I am tempted to join in myself but as my car is built to HSCC regs, would be woefully uncompetitive. But never say never....... ;)
Cheers, Martin

dont worry Butch is HSCC and as close to FIA as possible for a pre 68 car!

the hotrods have their place - we have ours- and Bernie will be prevailed upon to ensure that the genuine classics who come out to play with some success will be rewarded!
