Post subject:  Supercar Charity Day

This Saturday like last year I'll be working at Dad's Day Out, a charity event at Dunsfold, home of Top Gear for the Childrens Trust.

The event is mainly centred around over 100 Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other select supercars giving rides around the famous Top Gear track. There's loads of other stuff going on such as Caterham Sprint rides, public Autotest track, 4 live bands on the Ace Cafe stage (which I'll be running) hovercraft rides, helicopter rides, mountain bike stunt team, Static sports and race car displays .. for the kids there will also be Routemaster bus, and Fire Engine rides, simulators, young driver area, Roary Zone with Roary the Racing Car and Big Chris.

The Camaro is part of the Petrolhead Nirvana display, but I'll try and do an Autotest if they'll let me..

Just to get this on the calendar if anyone's interested, as due to the success of the last 3 years this is now a proper 2 day event this year.

They are also looking for clubs to make an appearance too, so if enough of us want to go, I can organise a Classic Camaro Club area and display. Mustang, Corvette, Viper boys all attending..

Far more fun than just parking up for a day in a field with other cars, you can ride in a Lambo round the Top Gear track, get a slalom/drift ride in a Caterham, get road rides in loads of other fun cars through Sporting Bears, take your own car on the slalom/autosolo course (I did this last year and was hilarious) helicopter & hovercraft rides, MotoX displays, BMX shows, loads of stuff for kids, live music, trade stands, club displays etc....

Last year it was attended by over 5000 people and raised (I think) over £80,000 for the Childrens Trust, so really a great interactive event with a very worthwhile cause.
