For anyone with nothing planned next weekend 15/16th june, if you fancy it there's the Supercar Event at Dunsfold Park in Surrey (home of Top Gear)
I've worked as a volunteer every year at this event and it's a truly superb thing to be part of. Supercar rides round the Top Gear track, Caterham drift rides, Sporting Bears rides on the road, Helicopter and Hovercraft rides, Tank driving experience, loads of car club displays, lots of stuff for kids - fire engine rides, cars driving experience, mini fair ground, simulators + motoring stalls and trade stands, and more

It's all for charity, The Childrens Trust in Tadworth, so really worth it if you fancy a different day out to hanging out with moody classic car owners in a field ;)

I was only there on the sunday but it was a brilliant event again.
I think the figure raised was £140,000 which is amazing for an event that started 5 years ago with a few blokes with nice cars taking people out around the track for a couple of laps.

vid of it here:

Chris Evans rolled up on the sunday afternoon too, with his newer purchase, a 1961 Ferraro 250 TR61 race car. I think he only planned on turning up to show his support, but ended up auctioning off 5 rides in his car with him around the track for a total of £3000.
Seen here with grinning Scouser Craig Phillips of Big Brother/DIY show fame.

This is a true charity event, all the cars are owners own vehicles, who pay for the fuel, and wear and tear costs, such as tyres, and are kind enough to let dozens of complete strangers sit in their cars while add on mile after mile on the track. Most are obviously fairly well off people to be able to afford it, but it's nice to see personal wealth being put to a good cause.

(Very oddly, when I went back to my car at the end of the day, which was parked in the disply area next to the track, most of the other cars nearby had gone, and the image I was met with was grinning scouser Craig Philips riding in circles around my car on a segway, filming it on his iPhone, which was bit odd.)
