I just didn't intend for it to ever be a 'project' initially... Longest it was off road was about 7 weeks
Yep that'll be the right way lol
So the latest with project hindsight is that i finished wet sanding the small parts e.g the spoiler, trunk fill panel. The trunk filler panel in itself was fun... i found a crack in the primer due to a crack in the filler, due to the part itself flexing (it's not installed, so flexes about when moving / sanding, which i think caused the crack) so i need to dig it out and refill. It's a hair line crack but it still means redoing a small section. Other than that, put the blower motor back together and reinstalled it (random i know - got bored of noon stop bodywork so decided to take it apart, clean and repaint one day and never got around to installing it, so reinstalled it and tested yetersday). Also cleaned the garage a little, moved some things around, just for a change of scenery to make it a bit less dull lol.
Next is to start sanding the shell
I plan on starting with the roof, then i can take a lot of the masking off of the engine and then crank it from the starter. Fuel lines are there, as is the tank etc. but no fuel in yet. I will need to weld subframe connectors which are close to the fuel lines so i thought i would stay safe and weld before having fuel in the lines. I was also thinking that it may not be a good idea having exhaust fumes around the primer. As the spark plugs are in, i can't crank by hand, hence through the starter. Should be doing that on the next weekend. Would like to get some oil moving around the engine.
Then back to sanding, hopefully be done with the shell by the end of the weekend, maybe even the doors. Then i can mask up, do the spot primer, sand those spots and prep for paint. Hopefully it will be red in April
