Car Details:2010 Camaro 2SS,yellow.
Hi,
Does anybody in UK have good recommendations of firms that are suitable to carry out the IVA lighting modifications for the 2010 Camaro 2SS.There are a number of firms sujjesting that they are capable- BUT ARE THEY? and the prices vary so much from approx £500-£2500. And who to avoid? Is the new Camaro as complicated as the new gen Mustang,with the change of lighting amperage loads upsetting the electronics/smart junction box? Thanks,any advise gratefully received,especially first hand on the 5th gen Camaro.

Hi James,

My friend bought his 5th gen from Piccador in southampton who carried the conversion themselves apparently.
I'm told they did an excellent job, and everything works as it should with no issues or nasty bodges..

Another recommendation I just had was 'Ian Goss', who is a Corvette specialist in Surbiton, but he converted most of the Ford GT's that came into the country so I'm told..

Car Details:2011 V6 Camaro a personal import direct from Atlanta Ga. USA in late December 2010
Ok I brought a 2011 Camaro V6 back last year (December) it yes its a nightmare!

I had to take the HD powerful headlights out and put standard head lamps in for the SVA (now called the IVA)
The outside rear indicators had to be isolated away from the lens cover and LED amber circular indicator lamps were cut in situ (they use very little wattage) I retained the side lamps therein and then also isolated the inner set of brake & side lights to again use LED 5 watt red bulbs fed from the centre brake light under the rear window. Fog lamp sits in the middle under the cars valance, and the fog lamp switch has to have an on/off light and the EEC sybol saying its a lamp and be seen clearly by the driver, it was a nervous time cutting into the dash board!! Repeating side markers were also added on the wings.
The car passed the test, the HD lamps are back in place, and I have a spare set of standard headlights for sale (used once!) and a spare rear lens cover for the rear light/brake light.
I can tell you more if you want........it WAS a task thought there are 3 ECM's on board that freak out every time you cut into a circuit!
