Post subject:  Starsky & Hutch Camaro?????
I watched a special feature on one of my S&H DVD's with the writer William Blinn discussing how he'd had a green with white stripes Camaro, and wanted to recreate the car for Starsky to drive in his new TV prgram Starsky & Hutch, however, they had a transport deal with Ford, so they gave him a Torino with the now famous stripe.....

Steven, you never fail to amaze me with your snippets of unknown trivia like that. I wonder why they chose to paint the stripe on the Torino that way, as it conflicts with the lines of the car. I can still remember seeing Mk3 Cortinas & Hillman Avengers painted up like that aaaargh!! :lolno: :lolno: cheers...Nige

my Dad has a Mk2 Cortina taxi, red, with starsky stripe, he even got teh PMG Perm!!!! (and he STILL wears the aviator glasses)

Its his fault I'm obsessed with the car now..... :lol:

The transport guys jsut decided to do a "custom" paint job, and how it worked! It might not be to all tastes, but it turned a mid sized shopping car into the hottest thing on TV!
