Hi,
So i am about to place an order for one of these electric conversions, https://www.classicindustries.com/contr ... atalogId=1

Has anyone had any experience with these?

I am thinking that the alarm might not be up to much, so was going for the cheaper one here:

I used to have a solonoid operated boot/trunk on my '69 Firebird. It worked fine until the battery drained one day & i couldn't get into the boot to get my tools out. Personally I'm not a great fan of aftermarket electric operated doors/trunks etc on classic muscle cars, as it's always something else to go wrong just when you don't need it to. hth, cheers.....Nige

Bought from Classic Industries. I got the cheaper one with just the door actuators and remotes. It was delivered to me in 4 days!!!

I fitted it at the weekend, and although they were quite optimistic about the fitting time (2 hours), i got it all sorted within a day. It does not look any different than it did before which is a big thing for me, however the dome light goes on when i open the doors which i like, then goes off when i start the engine, i have full central locking, and remote keyring access. I love it! It really makes a difference to the car.

Cool, I'm glad it all worked out fine for you. I really hate doing electrics, so this is one job I'm glad I don't want to do to mine    What was involved in the fitting of it?? Cheers....Nige
