I went to my friend Martins house yesterday to fit the front screen into my car. He's built the engine & run in the cam, checked out & fitted the trans, sorted out all of the electrics & has given it a very good suspension set up, amongst a whole host of other things to get the car to a point where it could drive & go for it's MOT .With Martin doing this work for me, it has freed up my time to get on with all of other stuff on the car so's I can get it on the road for this year. As it was a nice day we decided to move the car outdoors to fit the screen. Martin asked if I wanted to drive it out of the garage, but I asked if he'd do it so's I could see my car move under its own power for the first time. Needless to say it sounds very strong & was a very emotional time for me to see it live at last Woo Hooo!!!!! The engine feels extremely responsive & I'm really looking forward to getting it on the road in the next few weeks. The screen went in fine & I just need to polish the stainless trim & fit it. Once Martins finished with it, I'll have it back home to finish fitting the interior, paint in some bits n pieces, flat down all of the paintwork, cut back & polish & then fit the brightwork & finally detail it. If anyone neds a race engine, or a standard one for that matter, or needs any kind of tuning, suspension work etc etc, then PM or email me & I'll pass on Martins contact number, I'd highly recommend him Cheers.......Nige |

Thanks for the compliments, greatly appreciated. To be honest, it will look fairly good, but it's built to be a driver, not a show car. I'm sure that there are cars out there that will have far more of a wow factor than mine will. I've deliberately "down played" the look of the car to a point where it should just look like a nice original car with a set of alloys. There's no additional bling, chrome or anything added to the car that wouldn't have been on it in the '60's,(apart from the roll cage) even the alloy wheels are period correct I've tried to make it as '60's period perfect as possible. So to most people it will just look like a nice clean '69 Camaro. However, it's what's under the skin that is really important to me & this is one wolf in sheeps clothing . You can look at the engine & it'll just look like a fuelie headed smallblock, look underneath at the suspension & drivetrain & it just looks factory, no chrome, no bling just satin black paint, but if you know what you're looking for there's nothing standard about it really, it's far from factory original Once it's all shaken down I intend to run it at the drags to put some numbers to it, to see what it runs & then take it to a few sprints to play with the Evo's & Imprezas I can't wait, Cheers....Nige |
