It's up to 70 pages so far !! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... e%20haters? I think I'd chance my arm on the handling/performance front with my '69 against any of the cars they're talking about & I don't think that there'd be many that would even come close to it I don't feel that's being big headed but being factual. Consider the likes of Topcats camaro that can turn 123mph in the 1/4 mile, that equates to a good 10 second run & that's a circuit racer, not a drag car with slicks. That car can handle as well as accelerate extremely hard. Our type of car can easily be made to handle & perform as well as any modern supercar out there. Once my '69 is finished I'm hoping to put it to the test . Here's an interesting link, admittedly it's not your average Camaro, but still, 220 mph around corners cheers....Nige http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/ ... index.html |

I've been looking at the thread and am pro American stuff, although I can see both sides of the divide. I have just driven 2600 miles across Europe in a 190 K mile old Celica that I paid £124 for, came back and jumped into my 50k mile old Camaro and guess which one feels like an old nail? Yep 'fraid it's the Camaro. How can such a "better/ lower milege car" feel so "old" in comparison? By the way my Camaro is 1995 and the celica was 1993 so comparable in vintage as well, yet the Jap car is light years ahead, so I can see why Yank tin can get a bad press..... I wait for my public flogging but thought I would share my balanced view from experience |
