I bought apair of these while in the States, just picked up the car after fitting, wow what fun Pretty impressed with the build quality on these, CNC'd from billet, they are from Pypes over here: http://www.pypesexhaust.com/accessories.html#01 They come with a nice rocker switch that allows you to open or close them part way if you just want to be slightly noisy rather than fully open. Now I just have to avoid the temptation to push the button all the time It's a great security feature too as you can open them up after you park so if someone tries to take the car you'll hear them |

I like the look of them, there's nothing like the sound of a big V8 through open pipes. |

I have never heard of them before and I have just checked them out on you tube and they sound excellent. I bought a Magnaflow exhaust a year ago which cost a small fortune, I just wanted to get the best sound from the V8. Can they be fitted without intefering with that do you know - more thinking about the waranty... Where does it go in the system? Is it purely a sound thing (which is good enough reason) or does it add any HP? The one on you tube had a remote control key fob that opened and closed the valve... I am really excited about those, thanks for telling us about them. |

Hey Howie, They aledgedly improve performance as you are bypassing the exhaust system. It's the same as guys who run/street strip cars and have manual cut outs that they unbolt when they get to the track. Obviously the noise is a factor, I have a quiet system on my 67 which is great on the motorway as you can still hear the stereo so it's good to have choice. As for fitting you would need a Y pipe welded into your system to allow a branch off for the cut out, you could contact magnaflow and see what they say. |
