having just done the show at Billing I wondered what it was that people liked most about them. I'm not really a show type of person I must admit as I'd rather see cars in action. However we went up with friends & had a good weekend. It all started when my wife & my mates wife wanted to go camping somewhere. So, us guys thought if we gotta go camping then lets make it a car weekend too, which, surprisingly, the women were pretty keen about. All in all we consumed copious amounts of falling down water, ate loads of meat, disguised as burgers & sausages & wore our legs out walking around. The girls enjoyed the shopping experience at the stalls there, which left us guys to look at the cars. I enjoyed it because it was a break from everyday things, I was in good company & managed to chill out totally. The cars were just that bit of icing on the cake I guess. So, why do you do the show thing ?? cheers....Nige

I go to these shows because its nice to get out in the Maro and have a proper destination in mind rather than just going for 'a drive'. Much as I enjoy looking at Yanks parked up anywhere I agree with Nige about seeing and hearing them being driven, that's why I usually sit on the grass with a coffee and watch the cars arriving on the road leading into Billing before I go in.

I have only ever been interested in the cars, I have no interest in Country and Western music or dressing up as a cowboy, college student or a policeman, I have no desire to be American or to pretend to be American so a lot of the stuff that go's on at some of these shows is lost on me, I go to see the cars. But hey, each to their own pleasure! everyone is different and that's what makes the world go round.

I agree Nige, its was great to sink some cool cervesas, eat some BBQ, chat bout cars and projects on the grass and then enjoy walking around the camp site chatting to various people, some who were kind enough to share there coronas! (thanks Kenny!)

My Fave shows for best of both worlds are things Like the Nostalgia Drags and Hot Rod drags cos you get to c the show and shine crowd and see them driven in anger too.

Its all good as they say 8-)
